Our House
A Haven of Peace ...
Welcome to Fougerolles, located in the heart of the Vosges Saônoises.
This old house of the early 20th century, which belonged to one of the owners of the cotton mill of Fougerolles-le Chateau, has been renovated for you, with taste while retaining the cachet of yesteryear, and for your comfort.
Come and take a breath of fresh air, rest in our 50-ares park watching birds, plants, our vegetable garden, or maybe you will have the chance to see a doe on the edge of the forest, waking up from the window of your room.
Table d'hôtes (dinner):
The table d'hôtes is available on reservation. Meals are prepared with products from our garden, and local producers. We will introduce you to regional dishes. For gourmets, a menu consisting of an aperitif, a starter, a main course, cheese and dessert, accompanied by a glass of wine and a coffee (or tea), is offered for 30 euros.
(possibility of starter, main course, dessert)
Over time ...
Although the cotton spinning mill ceased its activity in 1991, there are still traces of it in Fougerolles.
The buildings on the other side of the river bear witness to this. Many inhabitants of the village worked there, their parents, their grandparents. One of the bosses built this house. The second boss was the owner of the Castel located on the hill facing us, which you can contemplate from the window of your room.
In our house, we have also preserved traces of this textile activity, very intense in the previous century. (objects, photographs, anecdotes).
